autosyn, I found from the owner's manual of my Accent 1.6 CVVT that my car is tuned for min RON91, meaning that I should be able to use RON92 fuels. Laughing
My question is, after the ECU re-mapping, can I still use RON92?
Will the ECU re-mapping change the octane requirement of the engine?

DannyK, your new accent is CVVT, you don't need the ECU tuning IMHO. As yours is CVVT, you may not feel the benefits of ECU tuning. That's what I feel after test drive the new Accent several times.

Just ask for the knowledge saja, ayam not planning for an ECU re-mapping anytime soon, gonna monitor how's the FC of my Accent for some time first. Laughing

PS - Maybe with ECU re-mapping, my CVVT Accent will drive like a Hyundai Coupe 2.7 V6, leh... Twisted Evil

That's not possible even with the best ECU map. Unless you wanna compromise the FC.

Stick with your pocket, and it will be good enough. Your engine is variable timing, it can adjust far better than the previous non-VVT engine.

CVVT 1.6 Accent really THAT GOOD as compared to the old SOHC 1.5 Accent? Shocked

sure its better as its a DOHC engine and bigger displacement. the car is slightly more responsive as the engine produce 112 hp if not mistaken, while SOHC is only 96. But ecu tuning will benefit from all cars, this is because factory default setting is rich, by fine tuning it, it will be more responsive and better fuel consumption. some hp and torque gain will achieve. hopes this helps.

Next TT session, how about in Puchong? Then you can test drive my car that's ECU tuned one. DannyK, then I can show up what's the performance and handling difference between yours and the previous model.
