Our Accent is tuned for RON91 if ayam not mistaken. Theoretically, we should be able to use RON92 without any problems, no difference as compared to using RON97.

zam, U used which RON92? Esso/Mobil, Caltex, or BHPetrol?

zam, Esso/Mobil RON92, if ayam not mistaken, does not have the same additive package as its RON97. Whereas Caltex and BHPetrol has expressly claimed that their RON92 has the IDENTICAL additive package and thus cleaning power as their RON97. Wink

It can use lower RON, but lower power lor. It means the engine can take the lower RON fuel without knocking effects and timing advance (or retard) to compensate.

chkwong, Unker Chips from Motor Trader had said that if your car is tuned for RON92 or lower, using RON92 or RON97 will not have any difference. Rolling Eyes

zam, make sure U almost use up all your Primax 1st, best if U pump in full tank RON92 when the low fuel indicator lights up.

I personally prefer BHPetrol, it seems to give better power and response as compared to Caltex, and also becos I use UOB ONE card, can get 2% cash rebate. Cool
But U may try both if U like. I wud suggest trying at least 2 tankfuls of each before U give your comment/FC report. Wink

Oh ya, try to pump at early morning or nighttime (>9pm), U get more fuel into your tank as those times the ground is cooler, so U dun pump in vapours. Laughing

which fuel addective or fuel saving solution is best or good for accent 2008??

i feel like accent 2008 FC is kinda high...one full tank only can go about 350km only... i uses shell vpower for the first time i get my car.. then i continue with shell regular fuel...and half tank only can get about 180km...

fyi, this car is still brandnew and not yet even done the first service yet..... but i had changed the rim to 15" with the tyre size 195-55-15..

any advice out there?

humanfly, your car is still new, the engine parts are still 'tight' so initial FC figures are going to be slightly on the high side. Make sure U dun rev your engine hard until at least the 2nd scheduled service. Wink

My car gives me an average of 8.5L/100KM now. Cool

Same like me..... Last time i also used shell fuel. only can max go until 350 km.

Why you don't try another fuel brands like petronas, caltex, bhp for comparision mileage and performance?

Try first then tell us what the differences.

>90km/h before the initial break-in period of 2,000km is a BIG no-no... Shocked

Control your right foot now, or suffer high FC for the rest of your Accent's life... Crying or Very sad

One thing I find very funny with BHPetrol RON92 petrol, look at my recent FC readings:

1) 8.1L/100KM
2) 8.5L/100KM
3) 8.7L/100KM
4) 9.2L/100KM
5) 10.1L/100KM

Traffic conditions are largely the same, every time pump full tank from 1/4 to 1/2 tank of fuel left, and pumped in the morning around 8 a.m.

Did U guys notice the upward trend in the FC? Shocked

Ayam gonna try Caltex RON92 next. See Caltex got gimme such problem or not. Wink
