JUST strip your car empty for better fc la. if fc is all you're concern of. Just leave the drive sit in.

hey guys, easy man....

i am sorry to bring the issue of FC out resulted by open pod style air filter. actually this statement is heard from a friend of mine who told me. the fact that FC sacrifices due to better performance is nothing to be doubt about.

why he said FC is higher and his express of concern because he told me, when using open pod filter, the car would have this "vroom...vrom..." sound, which metally want to push for more. hence, for that reason he step deeper in petal and resulted in higher consumption in fuel.

anyway, i hope this explanation disclose the argument between open pod air filter vs fuel consumption, ok?

ok, let's back to the topic in open pod.

my sincere apology to all who involved in this discussion.

That's because he lacks discipline.... Confused

It could be damn sicking when one already know the out comes and some joker out there is still trying to tell you what you've known dispite trying times and times telling that joker that you've already know.

Just wanted to tell you guys that most shop wont do open pod for accent, giving some reason that it might disrupt the air flow sensor. But the Boss at "TOP SPEED" wnet ahead saying there wont be any disruption. Trusted him after seeing his BM and photo of his son in the race. (He came in 1st mind you~)

Hi guys,

I'm running my accent with a super air flow filter. Was planning to get a K&N but would cost me RM250. Decided to go for the RM25 Simota super filter instead.

Defitenely sounds great with the new filter. A minor improvement on HP is quite noticable. The problem is, the location of the air filter may not be able to take in enough cold air. I'm currently working on a Cold Air Intake funnel to bring in some cool air.

*WARNING* Not recommended for Auto transmission Accent as it increases your FC like nobody's business.**

I think his is an open pod type. And I think I get his meaning about the auto transmission FC.

Although Auto transmission car they don or cant drag the gears... But its kinda slow in picking up. Hw fast the car goes depends alot on hw hard you accelerate and the auto gear change... The harder you accelerate, the harder the engine runs. The harder it runs, more air in take.

Try comparing with stock filter of both auto and manual car FC with same C.C. Manual tends to deliver better FC. *That is disipline in driving*.

I guess thats what he's trying to say ba... He's using open pod if I'm right.

Yup. mine's an open pod filter and theoretically, keong's explanation is one of the reasons. Manual transmission depends alot on your footwork to dictate how much air gets into the engine.

The auto accent also has a much more sophisticated on-board computer which calculates the amount of air and derives the amount of fuel injected into the engines for combustion. Even the environmental temperature plays a major role in the way the engine behaves.
