Steven,
I drove my friends AtoZ Auto model and I notice, for long distance and smooth drive should use O/D. But for town driving, ie: during jam etc., should Off O/D. It save more petrol that way.

But its just my observation.

Hi Steven,
From the manual, thats what is stated in there. Have to drive below 90km/h for the first 2000km. After that you can PRESS as much as you want.

Attention: ....it is important message to those who will colect ur new car at the beginning of the year, make sure the year of manufactring is year 2005 when u collect ur car, not the year of register (it is not important), if the year of manufaturing is 2004 even the year of register is 2005, then ur car has depreciated at least 10~20% before they sell to u.....so insist to collect the car with year of manufaturing is 2005...
it happen before for the new car buyers last year....so ask ur SA do not play play with this kind of game again Twisted Evil

Hi, vai

jackz, or those soon will become Hyundai Accent car owners,

very good article writen by ianual under Kia Picanto Launching....
have a look...

well, here is what shall u do if u getting a new/used car from dealer.

step 1 - visit the show rooms and test drive yr dream car.
puas hati then pay the minimum deposits that they (salesman) can take i.e
RM 500, then take the booking slips , make sure that the booking fee is
refundble.
step 2 - most case the SA can provided and help u get the loan from
finance company.
inthis case u need to prepared yr i/c, salary slips and some oters
documnet that might required by the bank.
if u wish to hunt for your own finace company then u still need to have
that doc in hand.
if u wish to do yr self then make sure that u know your way round to
finace company and the find the best deal. oterwise get teh SA to do that
job for u, anyway he got the commissions of selling that car to u .. so
let him hunt and do the works for u lah. easy. but u also should do yr
homework. ie survey for best interest rate.
step 3- loan approved i.e (90%) of car price, then u need the sign the
aggreement,
then u need to pay car price - 90% (or loan amount approved) - rm 500
(booking) = Rmxxxx

if u wish to get your own insurance then RM xxxx - insurance lah.
wait till the car arrived. then get the insurance covernote ( if u do it
yrself otehrsie SA already prepared for u).

step 4 - car registered at JPJ u got yr car on the road,
salesman/delaer company then claimed the moeny from your insurace normaly
in next day or 2. bank/fiance paid to dealer and normally bank will
billed u withnit next 30days. as for yr first payment/installement. ( they
send u the letter of loan d accoudn number and amount ) and be good
citizenz by paying yr loan.

Hi, arsenic75,

I'm getting my Accent (silver, auto) this Friday, i'll be PFX.... As far
as I know (from this forum), things to check during delivery are:
a) electronics (windows)
b) exterior alignment
c) accesories (cd player, antenna)
Please help input the other things which needs checking. Another thing is,
is the wheel balancing & alignment done before they deliver? Or is it on
our own?

===sorry for late reply, very busy esp this week,
as for questions mentioned above, in fact, u shall check ur car before go
with SA to JPJ to ensure the new car is in the good condition ...check the
following items before u sign any document with them

1. record ur chassis no: & engine no: first before go to JPJ
2. check the major itmes such as air-con/radio & Cd Playey/Indicator Light
(Front/right&left/Rear) etc whether they function or not ?
3. doors/front bonnet/rear boot can open & close easily or not and compare
the exterior body alignment from right to left and do not forget to check
with the paint
4. do not forget to collect the Accent's Manual/Booklet for Car-Audio/APM
Air-Condition Warrantly Booklet/Waxoyl Rustproofing Granatee & collect
back the official delivery order after u sign with the photocopy of the
perakuan from JPJ & the receipt of the insurance company

as for the wheel balancing & alignment, togethr with chamber alignment, I
think they will assume anything is in the good condition from the factory,
so u do not need to worry....

Good Luck !
