normally change spark plug will just need to rev the engine abit, let the ECU to learn the new firing of the SP.

to reset the ECU is very simple, just detach the negative connector for 10 minutes and be sure to record down the mileage, tripmeter, radio channel before doing that. Wink

you can choose not to re-tune ECU, there is not a must to re-tune it.

erm... re-tune is recommended right?

Please educate me why do we need re-tune ECU?
And what will happen if we don't re-tune?

PG KBSC is not very helpful, I don't think they will help to re-tune my car.
I guess the concept that they are holding is "Do more, more mistake. Do less, less mistake. Don't do NO mistake". What a sad world...

hi claooigt, please read the previous posts.

1. re-tune is not mandatory <-- is optional, you like then tune dun like then no tune
2. there is nothing wrong if you don't re-tune
3. the correct word to use is not called "re-tune", we are not tuning the ECU, by just to reset the ECU so that they will "learn" the new firing timing for the new spark plug <--- this is the reason to reset the ECU.
4. i did not mentioned asking Speedworks to "re-tune" or reset the ECU, just ask them to install the spark plug ONLY.
5. the reset of ECU is done DIY by removing the negative connector off the battery for 10 minutes then put it back.

I hope I clear the air abit. Wink

I have installed Volker Iridium 6ZX-11 last week @ Speedworks.
RM62.50 each, total RM250.
Monitoring the FC now.

I am totally new to engines... can someone explain why better Spark Plug can help in FC?

Is it because better burning then better power then ECU detected more power and control to deliver less fuel? Thus better FC?

Please advise...

Thanks for the link. I have read them and it does not really explain how can a better spark plug contribute better FC... Sad
Mind to share your knowledge/opinion?
