Chinhai8, wa.. you brave enough to put it in here and ketuk proton ah. Laughing I seen these picture from my mail last few months ago. I had even sent to Marky upon his request.

We can almost see that every few days, Proton will advertise their Savvy in newspaper regarding it is built tough la, approved by German TUV la, every Savvy is inspected by german specialist la, Fuel economy la, this la that la.... They are trying to attract innocents to buy the car coz they sales is damn low until the salesmans all sitting down and catch flies in the showroom. Embarassed

I had seen this car at different show room. It looks slightly bigger than Kelisa and the design is very funny. Im wondering why they design the exhaust outlet at the middle of the car, it looks obvious like a tail behind it. There is even worst that i notice that the engine bonnet area which is near to the hook and front grilled is dented, but they advertise its built though. Embarassed I also saw this at other showroom. Somemore, I noticed that there is some rust at the drive shaft surface. Mad I had asked the salesman the reason of it, but they just keep quite then after awhile they dissappeared themselves when i continue looking at the car. Shocked

I remember that one of the journalist written that Proton had used the Renault's scrap engine into Savvy. Renalts, when doing the R&D on the designed engine, they had found out that there is a major problem which they can't solve then they decide to scrap it and stop furthermore R&D. But Proton seems that they had got a 'gold' from Renault, didn't actually know the reason behind of it and simply do some R&D then launch it out here. Mad Just bullying the innocents. Embarassed

I think its ok to post it here. When i saw the damage to the car, I can only guess the guy was drving fast and after knocking a lot of things, the last place it rest was on a curb with a street light on the car. It can be seen from the damage roof.

I think what they mean build tough is the body frame and not the platings.
Just to share with everyone, a shorter frame is tougher than a longer frame. Try to brake a short pensil and a long one.
In order for cars which has longer frames, they will have to increase the plating's toughness.

Just my 2 cents.

Yup, the guy might be driving too fast, maybe his thinking is same as Kancil's driver. Small size that can easily squeeze into traffics, can drive as what they want. Thats remind me of seeing few accidents last few months. Kancil can run until terbalik at oposite road at Bukit Raja JJ Area. A Wira special edition in USJ hit the tree until the half portion of car is gone and can see both front doors is place aside like the 2nd hand spare part shop do so.

Malaysia manufacturer technology is mostly based on Japanese technology but they always tried to include more technology (gain more profit of thinning steel plates, modify others to lower quality so repairing is faster). They is only thinking just the way to get profit and never think of the safety of the car.

Savvy body's steel plate thoughness is claimed twice thicker than Gen2. Just can't imagine how it become if the Gen2 is replacing Savvy in the picture. Shocked

I have actually tested the boot of my few months old Gen2, and I think out Accent is many times better.
The reason I say so is that its hard to pull down the boot door, but at a cirtain angle, it just slam shut by itself. This is because of the weight is much heavier than the frame. I had another chance to try the boot door and instead of letting it drop, I try to hold it...but its really heavy. And the doors really have to slam hard only can close it.

I also went to see Gen2 for few times, not really satisfy with the Gen2 price than proton charge for us.
From your statement , I think that the boot spring and door design is not good. They should improve it already but i wonder what level of quality that Proton is achieving for 20 years of experience in Car industry and they had already launch many models in the market. Confused But i think everybody know why Proton end out with this kind of quality. Wink Proton Boleh!!! Exclamation

Its happenned to my Iswara also. When i sit straight at back seat, my head has already touching the roof and made me feel very uncomfortable. So i have to lean lower down like a lazy person. Sad But sometimes my rear passenger will hit their head to the roof when the car is drive through a bump. Embarassed Hai.. 20 year still same quality.. Very slow improvement coz their management always only thinking for $$$ in their mind. Sad

Aiyo.. Your dad must be tall one. My dad always complained of the rear room space. Low roof is one of the issue. He also complained that everytime he faced difficulty to step out the car from inside, sometimes pity seeing him move out slowly from the "Sardine space". Embarassed But accent made him feel comfortable.

U are right, Our local car got this sort of problems. Gen 2 is more lower than Iswara?? Shocked I still remember some event during the Gen2 first launch, i went to visit it at one of the showroom. The first thing that i not satisfied is the air-con control panel, temperature adjustment seems not heavy duty. Then the next issue is the tail lamp. I watched the showroom's tv broadcasting a video regarding their QA of the car. One part of it is the water leakage test, they drive the car through a water falling room, then use the torch light to check at each lamp for leakage. So after i watch the video, i suddenly notice that one of the tail lamp got some vapour capture inside!! Shocked So i ask the salesman for the explaination, then he just smile and keep quite then later i notice that they turn off the video already. Mad Later the salesman advise me to becareful at the engine compartment, the engine cooling fan will still continue to turn after the ignition is off until the sensor sense that the engine really cool down. Question Shocked Then, i notice the selling price at around RM57k is without ABS, Airbag and leather seats. So i think its not worth to be purchase then i left the showroom. Sad

He didn't give any personal opinion to me. But i personally feel that there are some important feature missing such as Air Bag, ABS, and most important is I lost confidence with the first batch of every new model from proton. A very good example as WAJA first batch. So its better to be patient for first batch, wait and buy after they change to few batches. Wink
