...195/55/15, or 195/50/15? Which size will not mess up my speedo too much, i.e. closer to my original tyre size? My ride is 2008 1.6 Accent. Very Happy

Me too kinda think that 195 series would be optimum for my 2008 1.6 Accent, but...just wanna enquire...just in case I wanna go crazy and get 205... Twisted Evil

Btw, got 195/45/15, meh? I tot onli got either 195/55 or 195/50? Shocked

Hey, no1 answered my question, yet. Crying or Very sad

Off-topic a bit, I kinda felt that my Accent's suspension is way TOO soft, when I go across speed humps slightly sideways or driving on a bumpy corner, felt like getting tossed around in the car. Confused
So, plan to change to bigger wheels after 2 years. Very Happy
But, do U guys think that I need to tweak the suspension of my car?

yes there is a 195/45/15, im using yokohama parada III, semi slick wet tyres. some tyre company dun have this size...depends u want comfort or pick up acceleration. btw, suspension dun touch the stock ones...if u need to, get aftermarket sport springs(soft, stiff, lowered up2u) becos stock settings shud be best for the car. if got more cash, throw in absorbers too.

Err...ayam sort of a novice in these... Laughing

By spring, U mean just the coiled thingy, right? Rolling Eyes
Just now went to MV, drop by KakiMotor, saw something like an absorber set to me, priced at RM2,500+, izit reasonable? I remember someone mention something Eibach in one of the discussion topics on suspension, are they referring to absorbers?

When U tune the suspension, what izit that U actually do?

ropai, the 14" original rim offset is 38 mm. You can see the offset info in the inner spoke of the original rim. My current 15" rim offset is 40 mm, I think, can't remember liao.

DannyK, oh, your Accent is the new model one. 195/55/15 shouldn't be a problem for your model. Got enough engine power. 16" rims also no problem for you. Your 1.6 engine is a lot more powerful than the previous 1.5 one.

chkwong, ayam currently not very happy Confused (just satisfied, like "OK, lar") with the FC of my Accent, fitted with the purportedly fuel-saving Michelin XM1 185/65/14...IF I go on and fit it with 205 wide tyres...cool-looking and great handling it might give...the FC sure gonna Mad annoy, if not kill me. Brick wall

Thank chkwong for the info, one more piece to the puzzle that is my bumpy ride on uneven road. Still shopping for lightweight 15" rims. Have you ever tried driving 130km/h from LDP Puchong South toll all the way to KLIA via Dengkil? I did that yesterday, was really uncomfortable, bouncy ride.

ropai, I had that bouncy problem when I drove to KLIA some time ago. Found out it was the balancing tyre+rim was out. So, I went to tyre shop, did balancing and alignment, tada...came out nice. A little out of balance on the tyre+rim, on high speed this becomes more apparent. However, on LDP road towards Sunway from Kelana Giant, the just re-tar surface is not even.

DannyK, town driving, all cars have about the same mileage. It's the petrol price that went up. I talked to a new Proton Saga owner last week during my tyre balancing, he too said his car FC was high. I asked him how high? He said RM55 can only go 300+ km, I told him that's very good already. My City give me 350km for RM 90! He was relieved when I told him that.
