Hi Accentians,

I am going to move from east to west Malaysia (Puchong area) next month to start my new job. I do not own a car presently as I have been using my company's car for the past 3 years. I plan to get a car once I'm there.

I have been doing some research on Hyundai Accent and learned that there are few variations of Accent (3-doors, 4-doors sedan, 5-doors hatchback), including those with bodykits addon (GTI, RS-2, RS-S). I have went to Kah Bintang's website and there was nothing much mentioned about the features, variations, and even the pricing.

I hope someone will be kind enough to answer my following queries:
1. What is Accent GLS? Is it the one without bodykits addon?
2. Apart from the price and exterior design, is there any difference between the 4-doors sedan and the 5-doors hatchback Accent?
3. In Kah Bintang's website, there is no mentioning about Air bags and ABS. However it was mentioned in the brochure. Does that means that it is optional and I can get one with Air bags/ABS from Kah Bintang? (According to one of the SA in my hometown, he mentioned that their Accent does not comes with Air bags and ABS).
4. Does anyone know the current price for 4-door sedan AT (with Airbag/ABS, without bodykit addon) and 5-door hatchback AT (with Airbag/ABS, without bodykit addon) Accent?

Thanks in advance.

First of all, welcome.
As far as i know, GLS is A/T, thats all. the ones with the bodykit is the GTi, RXS, ........
Different between 4 and 5 door beside price and design...nothing.
Air bag in Accent dont have, except for the ones in other country.
ABS in Accent dont have also, except the "kinda like ABS" feel.
The price.......you got to call Kah Bintang for the latest price, offer and gifts. Wink

Helo Vangelis..

if you stay in puchong.. you can go to the nearest Kah Bintang Branch near the Kuil after Tesco Puchong. Accent GLS is a stock without any add on on bodykit. the spec would be the same as what they have in GTi, RS2, RX-S, RX-S5.

I'm using the Hatchback version and there is no diff in the spec. and Kah Bintang also doesn't provide ABS/EBD, Airbag for any model of Accent. But, their service manager had told me b4 that we can buy a plug and play Airbags Steering but i'm not sure the effectiveness.

Mine is RXS5, not enough 1 yrs.

Headlamp change twice, fog light change 3 times (due to vapor, water get inside and caused the bulb burned), rattling sounds start coming out from dashboard and boot.

Not sure to identify it as a major, moderate or minor defects?

My car is almost 3 years old now, and I just love it. No major surgery done so far, just some minor one. Have to change a fog lamp after 1 year due to burnt bulb. Changed it at KBSC when I sent my car there for normal service. They said the new one is very expensive so changed using used one. After a while, the bulb for another fog lamp blowed. This time, I changed them with aftermarket fog lamps. Changed to another set recently cuz I could see water in one of the lamp.

i agree with all of u...so far almost 3 years renewing the roadtax....all in standard item since i bought from KB..no change..except the tires..iam lowering the front tire spring (by cutting it in two ring-not suggested because everytime i over seen the road bump..i have to change the fog bulb...kekekeke) but all in good condition..never change any spare part...driving experience..4/5 stars...most i like about the car (RX-S) the WRC replica looks, the low maintainance, fuel saving......arious amigos

Come few more months, mine is 4 yrs. So far so good. Very durable, other than the cheapskate KB accessories. Bumper very strong, hentam, only few minor scratches. Potholes, no problem. Suspension, on the comfort side.
