GTI badging usually comes with a much more powerful engine + transmission, upgraded suspension & sporty interior.

or...

is this just another bodykit version designed to look like VW Golf GTI?

sigh...

omfg.........everybody wants a piece of the golf gti..this is at 1st glance. foglamps remind me of a jetta, grill gti like...savvy is also into this design, wat else can i say? its too curvy, definitely a ladies car..i bet new owners will want to paint stripe around the new grill red...ala gti...
new scoop, tho non-functional...looks like it came from transformers movie - lol. the rear end, a huge wrap on skirt slap onto the bumper...cheap to produce skirts than redesigning new bumper i guess. looks good to me, just would wish the rectangular mufflers stuck out of the trapezium gaps. impressive change for the rear, but not so amazed by the front.
same ol rxs wing, roof spoiler and side skirts.

if gti, i would want to see upgrade to the performance, new wheels, new colours, new side skirts, interior, and maybe new foglamp design.
from side pic, u can see the rear and side are level, except for the front which tends to curve up, maybe ground clearance. maybe a failed p1 designer hired by kb to come up with this cheap design. expecting rm 1600 more expensive than standard spec.

Shocked Shocked everything same as GLS/RX-S?

hmmm, not sure if they should name is Accent GTi... got VWGolf GTi, which is enhanced, got Satria GTi also enhanced, how come Accent Gti not enhanced?

So that means now there are 2 new models in the market: RS-2 and Gti, both which have different bodykits only, and nothing is changed in the engine to improve performance?

ahahaha. agreed with you. is not really a facelift then. just adding additional accessories - make the car heavier and look ugly.

CKD - complete knock down - meaning the car whole is assemble in local but part - can be from korea (for accent case) or local.

CBU - complete built-up - the whole car is assemble in korea and shipped to malaysia. CBU is more expensive than CKD.

you forgot to mention, CBU is only more expensive because Malas-sia's tax structure... Laughing

Accent LC2 (our model) is around USD10k brand new fully loaded with accessories, when it was still selling in US. approximately RM38k with the exchange rates at that moment.

And after CKD, which saves a lot on tax, it's sold here at RM60k - RM65k. simply makes you wonder, right? Very Happy

definitely, but anyways ckd or cbu, wherever the vehicle comes from, this is paklah's country, with p1 and p2. if we didnt had drm launch p1, i dun think the tax would soar so high. check labuan or langkawi vehicle price list. last time i recall, in 2006, jazz vtec(new) would only cost a mere 32k. i've nvr supported local productions, neither will i in the future no matter if its irresistable.
