hi..
just got my 2nd hand accent a month ago and i totally love my ride except i know nothing about car maintenance (maybe little). I need to get the car serviced as it already reached 60k. Can someone (anyone) advise me where i should go for service, what are essentials...what i need to watch out for...and also estimate cost for the service. I don't think the previous owner did ever service this car. and i surely don't want to be ripped off...appreciate any response.

i dont recall... but if you browse thru the forum, you might get the answer.

basically 60K, time to change the timing belt as stated in manual book. did you have manual book when you purchase it? if yes, then it stated what you need to change then...

some other car-owners also told me the 60k service is about that much...$600-800...that does not include replacement of timing belt which according to some...can reach 1000 plus...don't know lah...maybe i have really budget this few months just to get the car in tip-top condition. from what i've been reading in this forum, probably go to jimmin in sunway..never been there but from what i've heard..they are okay.

Major service for Accent is nothing compared to T****ta. Avanza owner at AW forum, check it out. You then see our Accent major service is punny compared to that MPV van.

may i know what is the different between the item 3 and 10?

for brake fluid, why not take this opportunity to change to DOT5.1? i heard and get good review on Motul 5.1 brake fluid. provided if you change your brake hose to steel braided.

for all the changes, RM65 for labour - reasonable. im quite surprise they charge so cheap. normally oil changes, oil filter and minor thing... easily cost ard RM40++.
