Last week Friday evening, my windscreen crack after hit by a stone (Dunno where it comes from) when going back home during the evening time. Crying or Very sad Should by right i got an appoinment with KBSC Jln Ipoh on the Sat morning but i decided not to go coz i feel that repairing windscreen is more important. My friend ever told me that the crack line will expand with the night and day temperature if left unattended. Rolling Eyes
I get a introduced from my brother to the windscreen repair specialist, but he told me that he heard it few years ago. So i decided to go by his verbal direction. Its quite easy to locate the shop since he had put two pieces of cracked wind screen in front of his shop.
The crack that i got is mentioned as starbreak. He take out a flexible ruler and price list (with types of cracks photo) and serve me. The price listed for repairing my windscreen crack is RM170 then i bargain the price until i got a discount of RM40. I got no choice then let him repair it coz i dun wan to burnt my pocket to change to a new windscreen which cost around 1k including tinted film. I didn't buy the windscreen insurance since i feel like its very seldom to get this type of case. The repair only takes around 30 minutes. I watch the full process of the repairing and ask him where is his product comes from. He told me that he went to Los Vegas, USA to get training and the chemical comes from there also. The warranty of the crack repairing is as long as i own the car. After repairing, the crack line is almost cant notice from outside of the windscreen but i only can see a hairline scar if view from inside. Its not so noticeable since the cost repairing is far difference compare to change the entire windscreen. Smile The shop receive Credit Card also. Cool
So, if anybody got this kind of problem. You can visit
http://www.windscreenrepair.com.my to get the place. Wink

We can avoid this kind of incident when we drive through Malaysia road. Now i start to be careful when driving through under construction roads. If got chance, try to use the second lane if possible to avoid getting hit by the stone with great force by opposite road. I think the force will be weaker when the stone fly to second lane. Its also a good idea using 2nd lane when trap in traffic jam while the opposite road's vehicle travel at high speed. I think the 1st lane will get higher possibility to get the stone as our car is safer coz protect by 1st lane car. Wink

The repair guy also told me there got few shops offer cheaper than him. It cost not more than hundred, but he said that there also got few types of repairing chemical in the market which come from other country e.g. Australia. He used USA chemical and given lifetime warranty to the car owner. Some other only given 1 year warranty then later stage after 1 years, the crack maybe reoccur then the car owner have to pay again for repair. I had heard that my collague told me that one of his friend's car crack again when he apply Rain-X to the windscreen. The repairer said that he can't use the Rain-X to the repaire crack line. The repairer claimed its owners fault, then want to charge him again for re-repair. What a gimmick trade. Embarassed

Slbeh, did the repairer given u any warranty to u? 1 year or lifetime warranty? Where is the origin of the chemical they used to tread your windscreen?

I didn't bought the windscreen insurans when i bought this car. I bought the insurans for my Iswara but i had pay for more than 6 years and till now i never claim for the windscreen.
For every RM15 we insured, we will get RM100 for the windscreen. So for accent, if we follow the KB price. It cost around RM1400 for windscreen + labour + Tinted film. It will cost RM210 for insurans. But i got the price from outside windscreen shop, it will cost around RM900 for windscreen + labour + Tinted film. So for every 4 years windscreen insurans, i can buy a entire new windscreen. Confused It just my small calculation, but it all depends to the owner consideration. Wink
We only can blamed is the cleaness of our roads cause possibility to get windscreen crack from time to time. Crying or Very sad

I need help!!
last weekend i parked my car outside, i didnt go out. Sunday morning i saw my windscreen cracked about 2 inches.
Now after few days, the cracked spread wider. But when i touched the screen, i can't feel the crack actually there by finger.
How to solve the problem? can repair? or need to change to new windscreen? i didnt insured it. My agent told me can stand till year end, but i doubt about it now.
How much is the front windscreen now? Go where to repair or change?

Is our windscreen under warranty?

What do you meant by "my agent"? Is it your car dealer?
IMHO if you believe that the crack not due to any impact but due to manufacturing defect, straight away go to KBSC.

Hi guys,

I claimed my windscreen under warranty before. Just bring your car to KBSC and the guys there will do inspection to verify the crack due to foreign objects or it crack by itself. For my case, it crack by itself and they replace the windscreen for me. But be sure the car is still within the warranty period. For the tinting, I have to pay myself.

fyi.. Currently my windscreen is also cracked (for the 2nd time) due to stone. The crack now is about 1 and a half feet long. Still dont have the time to change it. Luckily got windscreen insurance.. but have to pay for the tinting again. Sad(

Izzit the Accent windscreen problem or just me?????????

WHO SAID THE LOCAL GLASS NOT GOOD??
The local glass-MSG (sg.buLOH) -The factory just after the Sg.buloh komuter-is better for our climate compare than KOrean one...believe me,yr problem (crack)also hapeen to many Kia's users..Even the MSG glass is more "thin&light" than import one..but the important is climate conditions.

Our acccent door glass thin more than my Kancil, when u close the door with the glass half-open..takutnya..macam nk pecah Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

I had refers with 2-3 person experience in change of windshield glass..actually many of the reasons because of the "frame"..its not bout the quality of glass..so make sure yr car windshield frame is in "normal condition.
vios and city also use the MSG what Wink Wink
