alamk marky, don't remember la, long time ago I think. The engine oil I got it for free when I was on site visit to petronas lube plant in Melaka. I want to give it to my dad but he told me serena uses more than four litre, so I keep it.

When I bought my baby in May, I was contemplating on using it but only did so after the 30,000 km visit. The car run smoothly I must add. BUt I didn't change to other oil since. Now I'm running at 80,000 ++ km.

I did had some discussion with the people at the lube about the engine oil status. Because most time you will see that they recommended that you only change the oil up to 15,000 km after the last change.

They said generally every fully syn is up to that. However, some car manufacturers would advice you to change it every 5,000km. It's up to the consumer they said. but as for me, well, I would rather follow as what the manufacturer said. afterall they are the one who come out with the car, right?

I haven't had time to call my friend to ask his advice. was thinking to ask him to join us at the next TT. that is if you all okey about it la.

Just to share on my experience on Elf. cause my old iswara is 13 years old and it has been 'hospitalise' twice already.

In the beginning my dad used to use Esso mineral grade oil and changed it every 5,000km. When the car reach 70,000km, we found that that its burning engine oil and we had to do an overhaul.

When I started to drive the car, I changed to Shell FS and I had to overhaul it after 150,000km since its burning engine oil again.

Now that I'm using Elf Molygraphide (Semi Synthetic) since after my 2nd overhaul and so far...its good. Now my milege already 289,xxxkm already.

The other experience I would like to share, my dad send the car for service and since I forgot that I don't have anymore Elf Molygraphide in my store room, my dad had to buy from the service centre Castrol Magnatec. Since then, my car would shake, shudder sometimes just die, very rough, loud during high RPM,black smoke during afternoon sometimes when RPM just got low even with air cond off, have to rev engine few times and many more. Did not have such problems when it was using Elf Molygraphide Semi Synthetic. Can't wait to change back to Elf in a few weeks time. *note* no adjustment was done expect just change the engine oil and filter.

Its more obvious in an old car when you try something new or different. Thats why I tested Elf on my 13 years old before using it in my Accent.

I have just sported there is an Elf Lubricant shop near the traffic light junction of Penang Stadium in Penang Island. Have not gone into the shop yet.
Anyone in Penang went to that shop before for Elf Oil?
